in Mbinga (Tansania)

Seit dem Jahre 1999 steht die Grundschule Nendingen in enger Verbindung mit der Hurumaschule in Mbinga in Tansania. Unsere Partnerschule steht unter der Trägerschaft der Vinzentinerinnen in Untermarchtal.
Die GS Nendingen zeigt ihre Verbundenheit durch kontinuierliche finanzielle Zuwendung. Wir unterstützen alljährlich die schulische Arbeit in Mbinga mit einer großzügigen Spende, die über Erlöse aus dem Nendinger Weihnachtsmarkt und andere Aktionen erwirtschaftet wird.
Über den Briefkontakt zwischen der Hurumaschule un der GS Nendingen erhielten wir für unsere Informationsarbeit Texte und Fotos (siehe Fotogalerie), die uns zahlreiche aktuelle Einblicke in ein afrikanisches Schulleben mit Impressionen von Landschaft, Tieren und Menschen geben.

Großzügige Spende für unsere Partnerschule "Shule ya Huruma" in Mbinga/Tansania

Im September 2014 durfte die Donauschule Nendingen ihrer Partnerschule in Mbinga St. Loreto eine Spende in Höhe von 4000 € übergeben.
Wie kam es zu dieser großzügigen Spende? Frau Elisabeth Schwarz, die an unserer Schule Lesepatin ist, feierte im Sommer ihren 70. Geburtstag. Das Geld, das sie geschenkt bekam, wollte sie einem wohltätigen Zweck zur Verfügung stellen. Durch ihre Tätigkeit an unserer Schule ist ihr unsere Partnerschule gut bekannt, und deshalb entschied sie, das Geld nach Mbinga/Tansania an unsere Partnerschule zu spenden. Eine großartige Geste, wie der Schulleiter mit seinen Dankesworten betonte.

Wofür werden Spenden in St. Loreto verwendet ?

Gehhilfen, Rollstühle und Operationen
Viele Kinder in St. Loreto haben eine körperliche Behinderung und benötigen im Alltag eine Gehhilfe (Prothese, Rollator, etc.). Durch die Spendengelder können diese Hilfsmittel den Kindern zur Verfügung gestellt und sogar Operationen ermöglicht werden.  

Schuluniform, Schulgebühr und Schulmaterial
In Tansania ist es üblich, dass die Kinder Schuluniformen in den Schulen tragen – so auch in der Huruma-Schule. Die Schwestern kümmern sich darum, dass jedes Kind eine Uniform, Hefte, Bücher und Schreibmaterial erhält und somit zur Schule gehen kann. 

Nahrungsmittel
Einen großen Teil des täglichen Essens erwirtschaften die Schwestern auf ihrer Farm selbst. Doch nicht immer reicht der Ertrag für ein ganzes Jahr aus bzw. nicht alles kann angebaut werden. So wird teilweise Obst, Fisch, Salz usw. auf dem Markt eingekauft.

Instandhaltung und Brennholz
Im Kinderheim St. Loreto wird überwiegend auf einem Feuerherd gekocht. Dies bedeutet, dass täglich einiges an Brennholz benötigt wird. Leider reicht der Waldbestand der Schwestern nicht für das ganze Jahr aus, so dass immer wieder Holz zugekauft werden muss.  In einem so großen Haus fallen immer wieder Reparaturen und Bauarbeiten an, für welche die Schwestern keine staatliche Unterstützung erhalten.  

Kinderheim St. Loreto

Die Vereinigte Republik Tansania (seit 29.10.1964), besteht aus Tanganjika (Festlandgebiet mit der Insel Mafia) und Sansibar. Hauptstadt ist Dodoma (ca. 800 000 Einwohner), allerdings ist Dar es Salaam (ca 4,3 Millionen Einwohner) Regierungssitz, wichtigste und größte Stadt. Etwa die Hälfte der Bevölkerung ist unter 18 Jahre alt. Das Schulsystem untergliedert sich in 2 Jahre Vorschulausbildung im Alter von ca. 5 bis 6 Jahren, für die der Staat nicht aufkommt. Dann folgt die 7jährige Grundschule, danach die 4- bis 6jährige Sekundarschule und später gegebenenfalls ein Studium.
Die barmherzigen Schwestern vom hl. Vinzenz von Paul in Mbinga betreiben das Internat für Kinder mit körperlicher Behinderung und Straßenkinder „St. Loreto“. Es wurde 1999 für 20 Kinder eröffnet. Wegen der großen Nachfrage wurde bereits im März 2003 ein weiterer Bau eingeweiht, so dass jetzt bis zu 80 Kinder aufgenommen werden können. Aufgrund des kurzen, behindertengerechten Weges zur benachbarten Grundschule haben auch die körperlich benachteiligten Kinder eine Chance auf Bildung. In der Regel müssen die Kinder in Mbinga meist 5 km zu Fuß zur Schule gehen. Selbstverständlich sitzen Kinder mit und ohne Behinderung gemeinsam auf der Schulbank.
Für den täglichen Unterhalt der Kinder werden die Eltern nicht aus der Verantwortung entlassen und zur Kasse gebeten. Doch für viele Familien ist es einfach unmöglich, Schulgeld und Internatskosten für alle Kinder der Familie in der notwendigen Höhe zu entrichten. Häufig wird dann gerade bei den Kindern mit Behinderungen gespart, so dass auch das Internat St. Loreto auf finanzielle Hilfe angewiesen ist.
Die Schwestern in St. Loreto versuchen bei Neuankömmlingen abzuklären, ob durch eine orthopädische Operation oder eine Behandlung durch eine Prothese oder andere Hilfsmittel eine Steigerung der Lebensqualität zu erreichen ist. Das bedeutet in einem Land mit schlechter medizinischer Versorgung viele Reisen und viel Geduld beim Suchen nach Hilfe.
Vielen Kindern mit Klumpfüßen, Verbrennungen oder sonstigen Leiden konnte in den letzten Jahren durch Operationen geholfen werden. Die geeigneten Krankenhäuser, das CCBRT Hospital in Dar es Salaam und das Hospital der Consolata Missionare in Ikonda, sind 1000 km bzw. 500 km entfernt. Ikonda ermöglicht uns zwar immer Sonderpreise, trotzdem müssen neben den Behandlungskosten, auch die Übernachtungs- und Fahrtkosten der Betreuer übernommen werden. Denn die Betreuung und Verpflegung im Krankenhaus wird in Tansania von den Angehörigen übernommen.
Oft brauchen die Kinder anschließend eine Nachbehandlung, eine Schiene oder eine Prothese. Dann geht meist die nächste Odyssee los.
Auch nach dem Abschluss der siebenjährigen Grundschulausbildung in der Hurumaschule, an die das Internat St. Loreto angeschlossen ist, versuchen die Schwestern den Kindern mit Rat und Tat beizustehen. Sie suchen z.B. nach Ausbildungsstätten und unterstützen sie finanziell, wenn sie die Aufnahmen in eine Sekundarschule geschafft haben. So können zum Beispiel selbst Kinder mit einer Gehbehinderung eine Sekundarschule besuchen, wenn einen entsprechenden Rollstuhl oder eine nahe gelegene Unterkunft haben.
